The BRK
detectors that will be replaced are ones that may be defective. This is
determined by the detector failing to operate when the test button is
pressed. If the detector sounds properly but starts to "chirp", or beeping
intermittently , then this also indicates it may be a defective alarm. You should test your smoke alarms at least once a month, if not more often. Testing your alarms may give you a quicker indication that it may be defective. These alarms may not provide suitable protection. If you cannot test your alarms, call 425-3525 and ask for assistance. We will send someone out to help you. BRK smoke alarms will be replaced with new 10 year battery smoke alarms, with a single sensor. The dual sensor alarms offered in our recent mailing ARE NOT 10 year battery alarms! They are 9 volt battery alarms which requires a battery change annually. |
